Crisp apples dipped in caramel, rolled in granola, and chilled for a satisfying sweet and crunchy snack.
# What You Need:
→ Apples
01 - 4 medium Granny Smith apples
→ Caramel
02 - 1 cup soft caramels (about 28 pieces), unwrapped
03 - 2 tablespoons heavy cream
→ Granola Coating
04 - 1 1/2 cups granola
05 - 1/4 cup chopped roasted nuts (optional, such as pecans or almonds)
→ Extras
06 - 8 wooden popsicle sticks
# How To Make It:
01 - Wash and completely dry the apples. Slice each apple in half and remove the core using a spoon or melon baller. Insert one wooden popsicle stick into the flat side of each apple half.
02 - Set a sheet of parchment paper onto a baking sheet and keep aside.
03 - Combine caramels and heavy cream in a small saucepan. Cook on low heat, stirring continually, until fully melted and smooth. Take off the heat and let cool for 1 minute.
04 - Pour granola and chopped nuts, if preferred, into a shallow dish.
05 - Submerge each apple half into the warm caramel, rotating to ensure complete coverage. Allow any excess caramel to drip off.
06 - Immediately roll the caramel-dipped apple in granola and nuts, pressing lightly so the coating adheres.
07 - Place the coated pops on the prepared baking sheet. Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes to firm up the caramel.
08 - Enjoy chilled straight from the refrigerator or let come to room temperature before serving.
